Several social events will be organized as part of CNDCGS 2026 and may be booked during the registration process. All events will be conducted in English. Below you will find descriptions of the available activities.
Participants may choose between two social events: Water Tanks Brno and the Brno Reservoir cruise. Please indicate your preferred option during registration.
AN EVENING BENEATH BRNO: NETWORKING IN THE CITY’S UNDERGROUND CATHEDRALS
Hidden beneath Žlutý kopec, these monumental underground reservoirs were originally built to supply water to the growing city of Brno. Today, their impressive brick vaults, towering columns and unique atmosphere create a setting unlike any conventional conference venue. Often compared to underground cathedrals, the reservoirs offer a rare opportunity to experience a remarkable piece of industrial heritage transformed into a cultural space.

BRNO RESERVOIR CRUISE AND NETWORKING EVENING
After an intensive day of scientific sessions, join fellow delegates for a relaxing evening on the waters of Brno Reservoir, one of the city’s most beloved leisure destinations.
Often referred to as the “Brno Sea”, the reservoir offers a unique combination of nature, panoramic views and local atmosphere just minutes from the city centre. During our private boat cruise, participants will enjoy the peaceful surroundings, wooded hillsides, picturesque bays and views toward the historic Veveří Castle while networking with colleagues from around the world. The reservoir’s boat routes stretch nearly 10 kilometres and are served by environmentally friendly electric boats, creating a quiet and pleasant setting for conversation.
